FLOAT THERAPY FAQs

WHAT DO I WEAR?

You can wear what you are comfortable wearing, however the goal is to wear the least amount possible or float nude. Combined with the specific water temperature, your brain will begin to shut down its proprioception, or awareness in space, allowing for the deepest possible state of mind.

DO I BRING ANYTHING?

No. We provide everything you will need for an amazing experience, from your own private room and shower, to body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and towels. The only thing to bring is a desire to rest, relax, and recover.

WHAT IS THE WATER TEMP?

96 Degrees or skin temperature. Once the pod is closed, your skin, the water, and the air will all be the same temp, effectively shutting off awareness of where you are and where the water and air begin. This is needed for the greatest outcomes for body and mind. Anything less than that temp will prevent the brain from shutting down fully.

HOW TO I PREPARE FOR MY FLOAT?

The main thing to do is to abstain from caffeine for at least two hours prior to floating. Also have a little something to eat about an hour ahead of time, so you don’t listen to a gurgling stomach during the float.

WHAT IF I’M AFRAID OF ENCLOSED SPACES?

With our pods, you have the freedom to keep the lid open all of the way or shutting it part way. Of course we recommend fully closing it for the greatest outcomes and the size inside will comfort you. Laying in our pods is like laying in your own bed at night, looking at the ceiling. If that bothers you, you will want to have the lid open.

WHY WAIT TO FLOAT?

You will need to wait for 2 weeks following coloring of your hair. Also ask your stylist if you can float with extensions. You should also wait until a new tattoo is fully healed. Medically, no open wounds, cuts, or rashes. Wait at least 2 weeks following a surgery or until the incision is fully healed.
